I was born in Tillamook, Or. and raised in Clatskanie, Or. where I still reside. I am a self-taught (and still learning) photographer.
I have enjoyed taking pictures for many years but I was never serious about it until a few years ago. My wife and I decided that instead of spending a lot of money decorating our walls, that we would use our own photographs instead. We soon started hearing commits from friends about how well they liked the photographs and why weren’t we trying to do more with them.
With encouragement and support from friends and family, I have started a small business called Beaver Valley Photography. I started displaying my photographs at various events, markets, etc. Since retirement I am now able to devote my attention in pursuing a carrier in photography.
While I appreciate all types of different photography, my passion lies in seascapes, mountains, and waterfalls. I have photographed the Oregon coast from Astoria down to Newport, especially the lighthouses. One of my goals is to spend a few days on the southern coast and complete my collection of Oregon’s lighthouses.
I have photographs throughout Washington State and Oregon in private and corporate collections.
