I was born in Whittier, California.  I lived in Hacienda Heights, California until I was 23 years old.  As a pre-adult, I took an Advanced Art class at Newton Junior High School in 7th grade -- in 1962.  This is the only formal training I have had in art.  Plus, I took three years of drafting classes in high school, and one year of drafting in college.  These classes were taken back when drafting was done using T-squares, triangles, circle templates, pencils, and pens … NOT computers.  I sometimes use drafting techniques in laying out paintings.

I now live in Longview, Washington.  I came to Longview in 1974, to work for Longview Fibre Company, after earning a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington.  I am now “retired”.  My other educational credits include a b.a. from Whittier College in chemistry and physics and a b.s. from USC in chemical engineering.  This isn’t training for an artist.  As an artist, I’m essentially self-taught.

Some of my paintings include trains and dinosaurs. Most small boys are interested in trains and dinosaurs. In the normal course of events, boys grow out of these interests. Does this mean that, at 60+ years of age, I haven't grown up?

Thank you for visiting my web page.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.  Please check back occasionally.  I plan to keep the web page updated as I make more art.
