I wanted to share dad's obituary with you. Please feel free to pass along
to those who knew him. We miss him greatly and will cherish our memories
with a wonderful guy. I've also attached a fun photo of dad!

Paul C. Johnson II passed away unexpectedly on April 17th in his Arizona
home at the age of 67. Paul was a longtime resident of southwest Washington.
He graduated from Fort Vancouver High School ('61) and Eastern Washington
State University before entering a career in real estate. Many people also
knew Paul as the friendly, hard working owner of the local Honda motorcycle
dealership on Fourth Plain who was always available for assistance.
Everywhere Paul went he touched the lives of countless individuals with his
friendship, humor, and witty stories.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Jeanette "Jeanie"
Johnson, and he missed her greatly. He was fortunate to find a dear friend
and loving wife of ten years, Vicki Cartsens (Kalama). He is survived by
twin daughters Julie Erickson (Hockinson) and Tracy Ostrem (Bellevue); son
Paul Johnson III (Bainbridge Island) and step daughter-in-law Sam Hall; and
six adoring grandchild. He was the oldest of four children born to Paul and
the late Lucille Johnson: Barbie Brietag (Vancouver), Tammy Polo (Vancouver)
Dan Johnson and sister-in-law Dianne (Battle Ground), and step mother,
Marge Johnson (Vancouver).

Over the years, he loved to vacation at the family cabin in Long Beach,
raise and race greyhounds, and enjoyed time on the Hockinson farm. In
retirement he enjoyed life on the Kalama River and the beauty of Arizona in
a serene lifestyle that provided him the time to pursue his love of
collecting" interesting objects and traveling to new places. However, there
was no greater enjoyment for Paul than his relationships and conversations
with his beloved friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at Elim Lutheran Church, 15815 NE 182nd,
Hockinson, WA on Friday, May 21st at 3:00 PM. A reception will follow at the
fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to OHSU
Foundation, 1121 SW Salmon Street, Ste. 100, Portland, OR 97205-2021 for the
Diabetes Research Fund.

Members
This morning Vicki contacted me and told me Paul her husband passed away Saturday very unexpectedly. Please everyone keep Vicki in your prayers. She is still in AZ. I will ask Randy  to set up a page on our website for anyone wanting to leave her a message. She is not able to get emails at this time.
For the new members who have not met Vicki , she is our Vice President. She just retired several months ago. Paul and Vicki were spending the winter months in AZ and planned on returning this month. Vicki is one of the most giving person I have ever known. Paul was one of the kindest human being I have ever met. As a couple they made the perfect pair. Randy and I considered Paul a dear friend.... we will miss you Paul.

Barbara

If you email your comments to me (Randy webmaster@ftloa.org) I will post them on a page dedicated to Paul for Vicki.
