Calandra Frederick graduated from Oregon State University with a B.A. in English. It was during college that she discovered her love for writing and photography. Calandra currently fills her time with temporary jobs while she follows her dreams of some day being able to make a living off of her two passions.

Calandra has had four of her photographs published in Prism Magazine and has also had her photography published in Rain Magazine. In 2009, her photography was exhibited in the OSU Art Show presented by the Asian Pacific Cultural Center . Her work is in private collections as well.

“Photography is all about capturing an idea. I try to create a picture that could have a story behind it, something for the viewer’s imagination to invent. The best photography is capturing a picture that people never get sick of looking at. Every time you look at it you notice something different, either visually or emotionally.”

Although always feeling a need to be on the road, Oregon is her home for now.
